I was hoping for a while that Nisbet might finally have attained the wherewithal to shut the fuck up and go away before doing any further damage to his e-penis credibility, but it appears he’s gone and pissed off the denizens of ScienceBlogs even further. This time he’s declared war on the use of “denier” and even “anti-science” to describe, well, anti-science attitudes and tactics. All for the usual transgression of being “polarizing”. Nisbet’s loathing for just about everything pro-science folks do is making me suspect he’s given up on serious science advocacy and has simply become a troll, in which case his shenanigans have been very effective. Otherwise he’s just a douchebag.
As is usual, you won’t find any hard data (read: science) behind Nisbet’s claim that everyone is doing it wrong, just his own desire to say something asinine. In the process he’s effectively conceded that the anti-science side has a legitimate complaint about the pro-science side being a bunch of meanies. For this, there is no forgiveness. He may have had sympathizers when he limited himself to nagging the “New Atheists”, but he’s bitten off more than he can chew now. I love it when people I don’t like sink themselves.
EDIT: Moar Nisbet drama. This time the guy who refers to some of his opponents of “Don Imus atheists” questions whether name-calling is an “effective communication strategy”. Let me try and see: Matt Nisbet is a fucking hypocritical asshole. Did ya get the message?
EDIT II: LOL PWNT. Following MarkH I fully support a black-out of Nisbet, which I predict will cause the level of ScienceBlogs drama to drop by over 9000 percent.

Thus far, the Bobbsey Twins, Mooney and Kirschenbaum, have not risen to the defense of fucktard Nesbit. Maybe the move to Los Angeles has finally unwashed Mr. Mooneys’ brain from his association with Nesbit.

I noticed that Nisbet has incorporated the “it’s all there in my book” theme into his spiel. The Einstein-was-wrong crackpots should sue him for copyright infringement.

Chalk this up as yet another example of Nisbet superciliously demanding that everyone else adhere to standards of communication which he has no intention of upholding in his own writing. “You Borat atheists need to learn that name-calling only polarizes the debate”–look in a mirror some time, buddy.

Man, it’s been a long time since I’ve flamed Nisbet. I need to get back on the ball.

I still can’t make up my mind whether the plonker is an anti-science plant or simply overcome with jealousy over more successful communicators.
Either way, he really is a complete waste of bandwidth and oxygen.
