I discovered Faith No More in an odd way. I’ve been cultivating a goatee most of the time since I was about 16, and not long after I started doing it did a high school peer tell me something to the effect of “Dude, you look just like Mike Patton from Faith No More!” After I saw pics, I discovered he was completely wrong, I look absolutely nothing like Mike Patton. However, I did discover that Faith No More was the shit. Here are a couple personal favorites, the first being Ashes to Ashes and the second untitled Epic.

Awesome! I haven’t listened to ‘Epic’ in a long, long time: I’d forgotten how much I like Faith No More.

Glad to remind you! :D
I love Faith No More not just because they had a great sound, but also for the fact that they were genuine innovators. Bands like Korn, Limp Bizkit (*gag*), Papa Roach (*double gag*), etc. were basically Faith No More without the adventurism (or the talent). They borrowed the mix of funk baselines and hip-hop lyrics along with metal chords and solos, but never bothered to alter their sound or push boundaries. The music industry suffers from a saddening lack of innovators nowadays, due in no small part to the fact that they’ve built their entire brick and mortar around megahits delivered by prefabricated and formulaic dreck like the latter group of bands.
