The Most Important Things You’ll Read Today

I’m pretty beat right now, and don’t have the energy to write anything half deep or interesting. However, others have risen to the task over the past few days. Foxy has written an obliteration of some very bad anti-evolution crank-math, and Jason Rosenhouse has his entertaining review of Expelled up at his place. Check them out!

UPDATE: And before I hit the hay, I absolutely must share this vivid illustration of a phenomenon I like to call “emergent stupidity”. Under certain conditions, e.g., a bunch of shit-chucking Neanderthals go out to see Expelled, multiple interacting stupid agents can generate an autocatalytic feedback-loop wherein the stupidity of their shared environment increases exponentially. The most fascinating aspect of this is that the trend appears to continue over an indefinite interval. Seriously, how many times can you afford to hear “Darwin can’t explain the origin of life!” before you kill off enough to braincells to be declared permanently disabled? What’s next, “Darwin can’t explain why ice has more volume than water”? It’s scary that the people in that comment thread are legally entitled to vote.

    Re Jason Rosenhouse

Mr. DiPietro should look at the comments on the Rosenhouse Expelled thread. Our old friend, fucktard schmuck Jon S shows up with his usual nutcase comments. I find it amazing how assholes like him function in the modern world.

It appears that, as of now, Jon S hasn’t returned to the thread. He’s become a buzz in troll.

EDIT: I take that back, it appears he has returned…
