Verily the Lord Atheos sayeth unto yee…
By Tyler DiPietro
…NYAH NYAH, BITCHES!!
I know I’m late to this party, at least in this little space. But I must say, this is absolutely great. In fact, I think Abbie understates the case. This is not only Epic Fail. This may the greatest breakthrough in Fail technology since Fail was invented. If Michaelangelo and DaVinci could work aesthetic beauty into Fail, this would far surpass it. This is legendary Fail, the kind of Fail that will be marveled upon by generations.
And trust me, it pleases me to no end.
I don’t have anything else to say. In the meantime, Greg Laden is collecting links and PZ’s daughter, Skatje, has rendered her judgement upon the movie.
UPDATE: Shorter Kevin Miller:
Our production staff has incurred a huge public embarrassment by simultaneously displaying extraordinary levels of hypocrisy and incompetence. This can only be seen as a victory for us.
UPDATE II: Shorter Bruce Chapman:
That lying bastard Richard Dawkins had the temerity to show up at a public screening that he had dutifully registered in advance for as per our voluminous public requests. These are the bullies we are poised to expose.
UPDATE III: Shorter Chris Mooney:
Congenital liar Kevin Miller has said that I am right. For some strange reason, I find myself in wholehearted agreement.

Sometimes, you have to learn to laugh at life, even if it’s a curious cocktail of hypocritical hysteria, blatant stupidity, overbearing ignorance, and stage four liver cancer.

I just noticed a post by Matt Nisbet on the ScienceBlogs “most emailed” or “most active” list, entitled something like “Why the PZ Myers Affair is Really, Really Bad for Science”. I haven’t read it yet, but I have the strong feeling that when I do, the “shorter Matt Nisbet” will take the following form:

You got that one basically right Blake, though I’d edit it slightly further to better reflect Nisbet’s thought process:

There is also another post on Matthew Nisbets’ sockpuppet, Chris Mooneys’ blog essentially saying Myers and Dawkins shut up.

SLC,
Yeah, I saw it. And my reaction porbably closely approximates your’s. I have it on reserve to respond to later if I have the energy and motivation, but I won’t guarantee anything. Quite frankly, some things are so stupid that they don’t even warrant a response.
