A Continuation of Life and Love
Well, it took me a while, but I finally figured out that I really don’t like blogger. As I posted my random thoughts with their system I increasingly came to miss the versatility of WP. Here you can schedule posts, in blogger you can’t. Here you can ban trolls and persistent spammers, in blogger you can’t without third-party plugins. Here you have built in software to track your stats, in blogger you have to sign up with a third-party site like Sitemeter to do so. Here you have native support for LaTeX, in blogger you need a greasemonkey/firefox script that converts it into some pretty ugly images. These are the features I missed the most, and on top of the pile I like the look of the templates better.
Of course, my older PowerUp domain is gonna stay up for archival purposes. And Tyler and Foxy’s Scientific and Mathematical Adventure Land is going to remain on blogger. TaFSaMAL is pretty much an aggregator for the primarily science/math focused posts Foxy and I write. Those fitting posts from here will still be cross-posted over there.
When I came back here and signed in again, I felt a rush of nostalgia wash over me. I still regret flushing Growth Rate n lg n down the toilet about a year and a half ago. Sure, some of the posts were just bad, but they were bad in a certain beneficial respect. If they were still around they would serve as a record of my evolution as a writer, a thinker and (hopefully) a professional in my technical understanding. Unfortunately, my instabilities got the better of me that day, and I did something incredibly stupid (there were a couple other stupid things I did in meatspace during that time, though I won’t go into the details).
Well, I’m back, and hopefully I’ll have fun. Update your blogrolls, if you feel like it. As I have the day off tomorrow I’ll spend some time importing all my links and miscellaneous crap from the other site.

Aw man, now you’ll have to get yourself Pharyngulated again. Or host a carnival, or something like that.

This Week in The Universe
Arctic ice may melt within ten years, but don’t worry, other planets might have habitable zones! It’s all in the Philosophia Naturalis weekly roundup. Also, Tyler DiPietro has been seduced by the LaTeX side of the Force and has returned t…

It’s okay, I’ll post something so awesome that PZ’s head will explode and he’ll be forced to Pharyngulate me again.
I’m considering hosting the Carnival of Mathematics down the road, since I still owe Alon a favor. Right now I just need to get situated.

Philosophia Naturalis (the carnival for physics and related fields) needs a host, too. I promised I’d do an edition once I got a few items out of my pending tray, but that happens slowly at best. . . .

Thanks for the link on your brand new site! Here’s a tag for you, if you like. But only if you really want to ;) (Yes, I’m working hard. Thanks for asking).

Better late than never! I’ll be linking to Tyler & Foxy’s - need someone to aggregate the techie stuff.
